Space: The Final Frontier

Space: The Final Frontier

It doesn’t matter whether you live in a 600 square foot loft or Versailles. If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a renovation manager, it’s that nobody ever has enough space. Or rather, no one thinks they have enough space. That’s why so many people build giant-sized new homes or add enormous, and often under-utilized, additions to the houses they already have.

Size and space, however, are two very different things. In most cases, I’ve been able to find my clients all the room they need without ever leaving their home’s existing footprint. The loss of a Butler’s pantry or uncomfortable attic access or single non-loadbearing wall can be traded (sometimes relatively easily) for an airy kitchen or a luxurious master bath.

No matter what they may say in Hollywood, bigger isn’t always better. Check out the gallery and see where I found room to spare.
